Come join Stacie, LeAnn, Daniel and Tony!!!  They will be competing in the CrossFit Games Open.

Registration for the Open begins Feb 1 and runs until Feb. 21st.  The WODs start Feb.22 and runs till March 25th.  Everyone is welcome to sign up.  Jump in and get your feet wet.  The WODs will be done in the comfort of our Box.

Coach Blaine Springston will head up our Open efforts.  We plan to have a meeting to discuss all standards, rules and expectations Friday February 10th at 7 PM.  If you plan to compete, then please be sure to attend.  Or if you just plan to support our athletes by doing the Open WODs without a judge, you are just as welcome to come to the meeting.  

This is who we are at CrossFit CenTex, we are a passionate team of Coaches and athletes who know deep within all of us is the heart of a lion. We compete to test ourselves, our methods, our education, our toughness and to build a bond forged by fire.  Whether your event is running road races, softball, golf, cycling, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, or just life. What a way to spend a weekend.  CrossFit CenTex was well represented. Coach Blaine placed 8th PRO division. Tori Seiler placed 9th in the womens' amateur class. Coach Blackmon's team finished in 13th and Coach Vaughn's team took 25th. Thanks to all that came out and supported them.  There is nothing better then looking up in the crowd and seeing so many faces that truly want you to do well.

We say YES, CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program based upon functional movements.  The very definition of functional means useful in daily activities.  Improvements in strength, coordination, balance, cardio-respritory endurance and flexibility serve all of us well.  At CrossFit CenTex our coaches teach mechanics first, then consistency followed by intensity.  We fill our classes with athletes of all skill levels, from beginers to advanced.  Each cheering the other on towards their goals.

JOIN CROSSFIT CENTEX THIS WEEKEND AT THE FITTEST GAMES 

CrossFit CenTex is THE location in Central Texas for high level competitive coaching, producing some of the best CrossFit athletes around.  Join us as we travel to AUSTIN to cheer on our athletes.  Coach Blaine Springston is competing in the PRO divison, while Tori Seiler will be representing CENTEX in the women's RX division.  WE will have two teams in the battle as well; Coaches Jodi Vaughn and Adam Aguilera will be teaming up with Jake Ring and Jenny Murphy.  Additionally, Coach Daniel Blackmon will be leading a team made up of Leann Fuller, Stacie Wood and Tony Bishop.

LAYIN IT ON THE LINE

 

I can’t make you a better athlete. I can’t make you skinny. Or fat. I can’t make you a better person. I can’t make you a better friend, a better lover, a better mother or a better father.

I can’t make you run or row or front squat or L-sit or do handstand push-ups.

I can’t make you do anything.

You are the person with the power. The person with the choices. The person who makes the decisions. Only you can make you do anything.

All I can do is provide expert instruction, an outstanding facility, a phenomenal community, and an accepting atmosphere where it’s safe to (mess) up and try again.

And results. Lots of results if you’re willing to work for them.

You have to decide if you’re ready to accept that challenge. You have to decide if you have a warrior’s soul, if you’re a CrossFitter.

WHY?

It is a new challenge to your body and mind.

BODY: Added volume.  It will stimulate muscle growth! More muscle means YOU ARE STRONGER!

MENTAL: There will be a time within the 20 reps where the weight on your back will feel heavier then it has ever felt before.  Keep working with great technique.  Remember to breath.

Oh, you will be sore.  Make sure you EAT! Have something to start the recovery process. (ie: palm size of protein and a fist size of carb-dense veg.)

As we approach the CrossFit Games 2012 season, Bill Woodward has been working on creating our official CenTex Competition Team t-shirt.  This is a proto-type to show you the colors and possible layout.

Shirt will be available for purchase to any and all athletes who sign up for a competition and ANY CenTex athlete who will help us by attending a competition to cheer for our competitiors.

Our next competiton will be The Fittest Games in Austin on January 21st, 2012.  Come cheer coach Blaine as he competes in the Pro division.  

 

I CAN CHALLENGE participants, please print the attached worksheet (see link below) and complete a "food matrix" for your own personal tastes.  Then mark your calendar for Monday the 2nd of January 2012.   We will have two times for the challenge event:  

10 AM

6 PM 

This will be FUN.  So keep up the workbooks, keep paying attention to nutrition choices, and pour yourself into the things you love.
